Travel information
By Bus or Train:
Galway’s train and bus stations are located in the city centre, just a three minute walk from The Western Hotel. On exiting the station, turn left to head towards Eyre Square. Stay on the right of the square, passing the NTL offices on the right. Turn right at Richardson’s pub on the corner and proceed up Prospect Hill. We are located on the top of this hill on your left.
Driving directions from Dublin:
- Take the N6 Galway/ Athlone
- At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on Bothar na dTreabh/ N6
- At Morris roundabout- take the 2nd exit and stay on Bothar na dTreabh/ N6 heading to Salthill/ N59/ Clifden
- At Bodkin roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Headford Road
- Turn left at St. Brendans Avenue
- Continue onto Bothar na mban
- Turn left at Prospect Hill
- Pass the hotel on the left, take the first left after the hotel and then left down the Cul de Sac. The underground car-park is located here.It is valet parking, so if all spaces are taken, please leave your car keys at reception and a designated driver will move your car if required.

The family-run Western Hotel is located in the heart of Galway, just off Eyre Square. It offers free parking, rooms with satellite TV, and live entertainment in the Western Bar.
Rooms at the Western have private bathrooms with baths, showers and hairdryers. They also include tea/coffee making facilities.
Cooked and continental breakfasts are served daily in the restaurant. 3-course evening meals are served, and guests can enjoy a carvery, a light lunch menu, and an evening á la carte menu. Fine local produce is used in all meals.
The bright and spacious Western Bar has a fine selection of drinks and shows major sporting events on large screen TVs. It also hosts regular live music and DJ’s.
Galway Bus and Train Stations are within a 5-minute walk. The Bold Art Gallery, Galway Shopping Center and the Greyhound Stadium are also nearby. Important information
Group Policy
The Western Hotel prefers not to accommodate groups of 8 or more people. Should the group be excepted, a security deposit in the form of cash or credit card pre-authorisation for E150 per room is required on check-in. Furthermore we require a signed statement that all damages exceeding this amount will be covered by the primary booker. This deposit is refunded on departure if no damage has occurred
