Ireland - Cork - Shandon ChurchShandon Church (St Anns Church): Shandon Steeple church built in 1722 on the hill of Shandon in place of an older church destroyed in the siege of 1690, the church of Sainte-Anne is famous for its carillon bells to eight of a total weight of 6 tons.

The walls of the tower are made of red sandstone and white limestone which gave color to County Cork (red and white). The clock is affectionately called "the four-faced liar" because the east and west sides provide hours slightly offset from one another.
